Our story

Evelyn’s flower bar got its name from our families’ matriarch, Evelyn Mae Parks and her daughter, Evelyn “Sissy” Mae. These two dearly loved women believed in bringing loved ones together to celebrate joyous occasions. So much so that Sissy, also known as my grandmother, spent most of her adult life working as a floral designer.  

Ever since I was young, I learned about Grandma Sissy and her floral creations. Following in her footsteps, I started my professional journey of floral designing at a flower shop along Maryland’s Eastern shores. Over the last decade, I’ve gained hands on experience, guided by seasoned designers in the floral industry. 

 Sharing in what seems like a family tradition, it only seemed natural to create a company to honor the women before me, in doing what I love through designing and bringing loved ones together. Growing up, my grandmother’s welcomed everyone. Here at Evelyn’s flower bar, paying homage to the long line of strong women that came before me, all are welcome.
