Our story

Evelyn’s Flower Bar was named in honor of our family’s matriarch, Evelyn Mae Parks, and her daughter, Evelyn “Sissy” Mae — two dearly loved women who believed deeply in gathering folks together to celebrate life’s sweetest moments. That love ran so strong that Sissy, my grandmother, spent much of her life working as a floral designer, sharing beauty wherever she went.

From a young age, I grew up hearing stories of Grandma Sissy and her floral creations. Inspired by her legacy, I began my own journey in floral design at a flower shop along Maryland’s Eastern Shore. Over the past decade, I’ve learned the craft hands-on, guided by seasoned designers.

Carrying on what feels like a family tradition, creating Evelyn’s Flower Bar felt only natural — a way to honor the strong women who came before me while doing what I love most: designing flowers and bringing loved ones together. My grandmother welcomed everyone with open arms, and here at Evelyn’s Flower Bar, we do the same.
A black and white photo of a man and a woman at a store checkout counter. The man is wearing glasses, a light-colored shirt, and patterned pants. The woman is wearing a dark work uniform with a patch on the shoulder and is smiling while holding the man's arm. They are pressing their hands together on the counter, with a roll of paper and a potted plant nearby.

"Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the LORD your God is giving you."
